Open Solaris Day

Open Solaris day was celebrated on 18th August. Mr.Ananth Shrinivas and Mr.Pratap Devaraj from Sun MicroSystems handled the sessions. A day before OpenSolaris day, there was a small discussion about solaris. In that discussion they covered topics such as History of OpenSolaris, some important unique features of Solaris.It was just some basics and helped to understand what it is. It lasted for an hour and then the demo started at PP Lab. There we were introduced a bit detail about ZFS(128 bit File System) and DTrace(Dynamic Trace). They were really amazing. There was a disussion about how to promote solaris and in which labs it can be used. It can be used in operating system lab, System Software lab and for labs based on Java. Then we got Solaris in our machines. GUI looks cooool really. I tried some commands in it.:). On Open Solaris Day, first session starts with introduction and history which is not more technichal. Later sessions gave a technichal feast which explains all the technologies in Solaris. Evening session explains the difference between GPL and CDDL.But what irked me the most is comparison between Solaris and GNU/Linux. I would be very satisfied if that topic is avoided because the OpenSolaris Day itself has been celebrated by GLUGOT and GLUG-Madurai. Apart from that it has lot of informations,great technologies covered by great people.

Gone a mobile

Atlast I bought a mobile, a simple NOKIA 1108 last week. Then Pen Drive which has capability of 512 MB. Hereafter no cd's, no floppies...:)

Offer @ WIPRO

I got through the recruitment process of WIPRO which was held on June 25 as part of my college campus activity. This process has 3 phases. First phase is Aptitude. It has 3 sections. Verbal ability, Quantitative aptitude and Technichal section. Each section has individual section and I feel it as a simple excercise. Then I was called for technichal interview. First I felt little bit nervous but interviewee was very cool and encouraging. He made me relaxed and to feel comfort of environment. Most questions are from C and Area of Interest. He asked me to find bugs in given simple C program. Though I have rectified my mistakes made @ TCS interview, I tried to convince him with my cool words. :). Next came HR interview. It had very formal questions as expected. But one interesting matter to be mentioned was I didn't get much tensed before interview. After attending interview I got tensed and I went to Vinayakar Temple near College Guest House. At around 8 P.M they released the result. I found my name there. Its good and hope to continue the good run in future.

Current Trend in Cinema

It is a serious issue that current trend is not in good form. Only very few think in a creative manner. Majority of the creators are not willing to give good script. They just make movies for actors that include 4 duets and 6 fights. They show that hero is a brilliant fellow and is capable
of doing all sort of things for good cause. But villan will be full of cruel characters. It means that he wont have one good habit. But in practical no one is 100% good or 100% bad. Then heroines come into play. From my point of view, eligibility to become heroine is she should be
beautiful. Their situation is pathetic. They just have an introduction song in which they will be enjoying the nature.Then at some situation love between hero and heroine will blossom. She will run after the hero and duet will be on some foreign locations. Movies that consists of the
above mentioned properties are tolerable. There are certain issues that have to be noticed. They are violence,punch dialogues,double meaning dialogues and skin show. All these 4 characters are not at all necessary. That too for tamil cinema. shame on it. But the real fact is they all are growing day by day. Creators are justifying by saying that,it is just a cinema having commercial elements. But people of all age are seeing it and they take heroes as their role model by just seeing them in a movie. They are giving their life for their heroes. So the heroes
should understand their responsibilities and accept the role. So the current trend has to be changed and many more good scripts that have real message for people is expected.

For the last 6 months I didn't blog. Since blog is restricted in college, I couldn't blog. Atlast I gave internet conection to my home. So I am Blogging from home. Hoping to continue it.
